Wondering if Sold Fast will buy your car? This guide explains our buying criteria — vehicle age, kilometres, location, condition, and which makes and models we accept.
Sold Fast purchases vehicles manufactured within the last 12 years. As of 2026, this means vehicles from 2014 onwards.
Why 12 years? Beyond this age, vehicles are harder to resell efficiently — buyer demand narrows, finance options become limited, and compliance costs increase. We find that vehicles under 12 years old offer sellers the best experience because the market for them is active.
If your vehicle is older than 12 years, we generally cannot make an offer — however, if you're in the Sydney metro area, it's worth enquiring anyway. Certain models retain strong demand regardless of age.
We purchase vehicles with odometer readings under 180,000 km.
Vehicles with higher mileage become increasingly difficult to resell. Beyond 180,000 km, buyer pools shrink, and the vehicles often require more investment to bring to a sellable standard. Our 180,000 km limit ensures we can offer sellers competitive prices based on active market demand.
Note: kilometre reading is one of the most important factors in the offer we make. A 90,000 km car and a 150,000 km car of the same make, model, and year can differ significantly in offer price.
Sold Fast currently operates across:
Within these states, we come to you. There's no need to bring your vehicle to us — our team travels to wherever is convenient for you.
If you're in a regional area within these states, enquire anyway. Our team regularly purchases vehicles outside the major metropolitan areas.
We buy vehicles across a wide range of conditions — from near-new to well-worn. What we do accept:
What we cannot purchase:
We don't have a shortlist of makes we'll buy. We purchase vehicles from all major manufacturers operating in Australia — Japanese, Korean, European, American, and Chinese brands alike.
Some of the brands we regularly purchase:
Japanese: Toyota, Mazda, Honda, Nissan, Subaru, Mitsubishi, Suzuki, Isuzu Korean: Hyundai, Kia European: BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volkswagen, Volvo, Land Rover, Peugeot, Renault American: Ford, Jeep, RAM Chinese: MG, GWM, Haval, BYD, Chery Electric: Tesla, BYD, Hyundai Ioniq, Kia EV6, and all other EV models
If your make isn't listed, enquire anyway. If it's registered, drives, and meets our age and kilometre criteria, we're likely interested.
Yes. We purchase all major EV brands including Tesla, BYD, Hyundai Ioniq, Kia EV6, Nissan Leaf, and others. EV valuations account for battery health as an additional factor alongside kilometres and condition.
Sometimes. Minor to moderate mechanical issues are factored into our offer rather than being a dealbreaker. Serious mechanical problems (blown engine, major transmission failure) may prevent a purchase or significantly affect the offer. Always disclose mechanical issues honestly in your enquiry.
If your vehicle is too old, too high in kilometres, or located outside our service area, we'll let you know promptly rather than waste your time. In some borderline cases — particularly for desirable vehicles or Sydney-metro locations — we may still make an offer. It's always worth enquiring.
Yes. We purchase dual-cab utes (Toyota HiLux, Ford Ranger, Mazda BT-50, Isuzu D-Max, Mitsubishi Triton, etc.) regularly — these are among the most in-demand vehicles in Australia. Light commercial vehicles are assessed case by case.
