What to Expect When Sold Fast Comes to Inspect Your Car

Wondering what happens when a car buyer arrives? Here's a full walk-through of the Sold Fast inspection and same-day payment process.

How the inspection works

When our team arrives, the inspection typically takes 15–25 minutes. We'll:

  • Do a walk-around of the exterior — bodywork, rust, and panel alignment
  • Check the interior — seats, dashboard, electronics, and odometer
  • Start the engine and check for warning lights, unusual sounds, or smoke
  • Take the car for a brief test drive if it's driveable
  • Review any service history you have available

We're not looking for reasons to reduce the offer — we're confirming the vehicle matches the information in your form. If everything checks out, we confirm the offer on the spot.

What happens with payment

Once you accept the offer, we process the Osko payment immediately. The transfer is sent from our account to yours before the vehicle leaves your property. You can verify receipt on your banking app while we're still present.

We then complete the transfer of registration paperwork together. As a licensed dealer we handle the RMS notification — you don't need to visit a service centre.

Frequently asked questions

What if the car is worse than described?

If there are significant discrepancies between what was described and the actual condition — such as undisclosed damage or a higher odometer reading — we may need to adjust the offer. We'll always discuss this transparently before making any change.

Do I need to clean the car before the inspection?

A basic tidy-up is helpful but not required. We're assessing mechanical and structural condition, not presentation. Don't go to the expense of a professional detail unless you plan to use it as a selling point.
